Robert W. Taylor, 76, of Court Street, died Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. He was born on September 5, 1947, in New Castle, the son of the late William E. Taylor and his stepmother, Anne E. Taylor, and Eva E. (Beckert) Call and his stepfather, Frank A. Call. Mr. Taylor worked for Nickle’s Bakery as a shipper loader for 15 years, and then worked for Koppel Steel as a crane follower, retiring after 22 years. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Mr. Taylor was a member of Shenango High School Football 1963 Undefeated Team and played softball with Shenango AC for many years. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, shooting pool, playing foosball, and he loved going to the casino and playing cards.
He is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents and stepparents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Guy L. Call, and one sister, Nancy Thomas.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 12 PM to 2 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Adam Trambley will officiate. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
