Rose M. Droeder

Rose M. Droeder, 91, of W. Wabash Avenue, died Sunday, February 2, 2025, at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless, PA. She was born in New Castle, on April 17, 1933, the daughter of the late Frank and Antonette (Marcella) Lombardo. She married Frederick J. Droeder, Sr., on April 16, 1955, he survives at home. Mrs. Droeder was a member of Holy Spirit Parish- St. Vincent de Paul. She worked at airway luggage and then was a supervisor for Liberty Mutual retiring after 38 years. She enjoyed cooking and baking for others. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and attending all of their sports and school activities.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by, one son, Frederick J. Droeder, Jr., and his wife Tricia of New Castle, four granddaughters, Gina Van Eman (Charles), Elyse Rice (Darrian), Charlie Richards (Evan), and Mara Droeder, and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Nick Lombardo, Andrew Lombardo, Ralph Lombardo, and Albert Lombardo, and two sisters, Albina Ferrante and Ida Pegnato.

A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 2:30 PM, at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Father Ben Barr will officiate. Visitation will follow the Funeral Liturgy from 3 PM to 6 PM. Burial will be in St. Lucy Cemetery.
