After a five year hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer, surrounded by her family, Ruth Anna Turner, 88, of Moffatt Road, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Edison Manor Nursing Home in New Castle. Ruth was born May 24, 1930 in New Castle to the late Frank W. and Anna E. (Gittings) Hill. She was married for 41 years to Frank C. Turner, who survives her at home.
Also left to cherish her memory are her daughter and caregiver, Linda A. Williams Ridge (Steven) and her son, Earl F. Williams (Janet) all of New Castle. She has seven grandchildren: Georgeann Semans, John Williams, Jennifer Patton, Damian Williams, Shanna McNicholas, Dustin Williams, and Megan Pollum; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her family is Sherice Brothers, who was a dedicated and compassionate companion for the past four years.
An inspiration to all, her lasting legacy will be as a lifelong caregiver and for her unconditional love and devotion to her family and friends. She was known for her zest for life and fun and her fondness for animals.
Services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, Inc., located at 926 Cunningham Avenue, New Castle, PA. Visitation will be at 1:00 PM with a memorial service immediately following at 2:00 PM. The Rev. Ron Nagel will officiate.
