SuzAnne Marlene Dudash, 78, of Karon Drive in Shenango Township died Thursday, July 20, 2023 at her residence in New Castle. She was born on June 11, 1945 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Michael and Anne (Dado) Putro. Mrs. Dudash married her high school sweetheart, Thomas L. Dudash on July 31, 1966, he survives in New Castle. Mrs. Dudash was a member of St. Elias Orthodox Church and was very active in her church. She worked as a nurse for over 55 years starting at Jameson Memorial Hospital, then was a nursing instructor at Jameson Nursing School. She then worked as a Shenango High School nurse for a number of years. SuzAnne finished her career as a Nurse Practitioner, working for Dr. McDowell and Dr. Amour, Dr. Bassaly, and retired from Primary Health Care. She was the first graduating class of Allegheny General Hospital’s Nurse Practitioners Program. SuzAnne collected angels and was devoted to Mother Mary. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and Steeler Sundays. SuzAnne introduced her family to the Island Aruba over 40 years ago, and it has become their home away from home. She had a giving love and affection for everyone, never expecting anything in return. Above all, she loved being a mother and Nunna to the special girls in her life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Tamara L. Kendall and her husband Jeffery of New Castle, and Tawnya A. DeGruttola and her husband Joseph of Cranberry Township, four granddaughters, Mackenzie DeGruttola, Delanie DeGruttola, Brittany Kendall, and Allyson Kendall, one brother, Michael G. Putro of Maryland, and one Aunt, JoAnne (Dado) Bakuhn of New Castle.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 23, 2023 from 3 PM to 6 PM at St. Elias Orthodox Church, 915 Lynn Street. Funeral services will be celebrated Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 6:00 PM at St. Elias Orthodox Church. Father Kevin Long will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Elias Orthodox Church. Special thank you to Dr. Elbert Acosta and Anova Hospice for their dedication and care. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue.
