Walter A. Jenkins

Walter Jenkins, age 91, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories. Born on February 2, 1933, in New Castle. Walter proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed sharing stories of his travels during his service and the many adventures he shared with his beloved wife, Colleen, to whom he was married for 71 years. Walter worked at Conn Welding, loved woodworking, and enjoyed writing poetry. Known for his sense of humor and famous jokes, he continued to sing and bring joy to those around him until his final days. Walter will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In addition to wife, Walter is survived by his daughter-in-law, Annemarie Jenkins; his granddaughters Blaise Fannin (husband Michael Fannin) and Ashlee Cain (husband Pat Cain); and his great-grandchildren, Emmi and Casen Cain. He is also preceded in death by his son, Ricky Jenkins. Visitation will be held Monday, November 18, 2024, from 3 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Monday, November 18, 2024, at 4:00 PM at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
