William G. Tanner, Jr.

William G. Tanner, Jr., 67, of Cornell Avenue in Shenango Township, died Saturday, May 25, 2024, at his home in New Castle. He was born on February 12, 1957, in New Castle, the son of the late William G. and Verna (Majeski) Tanner, Sr. Bill married Kimberly A. (Adams) Tanner on October 7, 1978, she survives at home. He worked for Blair Strip Steel as a Foreman, retiring after 41 years. Bill enjoyed golfing, traveling, especially his yearly trips to California, fishing, and baseball. He will be remembered as a great friend and loved helping people. Above all, Bill lived for his grandchildren, and they were his world, he loved taking care of them, and never missed a baseball game for his little buddy, Jason.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by two sons, Jason R. Tanner and his wife Rachel, and Ryan W. Tanner and his wife Danielle all of New Castle, four grandchildren, Jason G. Tanner, Allie G. Tanner, Ryann E. Tanner, and Chase Rannard, one brother, Brian Tanner of New Castle, and two sisters, Charlene Tanner and Patricia Morici both of New Castle.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 4 PM to 7 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 1:00 PM. Father Ben Barr will officiate. Burial will be in STS Philip & James Cemetery.
