1941 - 1957
Our funeral home's history began in 1941 when William F. DeCarbo, Sr. established this funeral home. Better known as "Willie", our father and friend was a memorable and integral part of the community at large. His courteous service set the standard of excellence that future generations have upheld for over 60 years.
1947
The original mortuary business was in a double house on the corner of Lutton & Summit Streets in New Castle. In 1947, the funeral home was moved to its current location at 926 Cunningham Avenue and improvements were made.
1947 - 1955
Additions were made in 1947 of two visitation rooms, increased parking and offices. Services were increased and in 1955 a complete casket room was opened.
1957 - 1972
The elder DeCarbo died in 1957 leaving the business to his wife, Mary, who ran the operation until 1966 when her son, William F., Jr., took it over. In 1972, Roger M. DeCarbo, Sr. joined his brother and they formed a partnership.
1978
In 1978, a formal chapel was built, the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel, and dedicated to their late father.
1994 - Present
Since then the third generation, Roger M. DeCarbo, Jr. in 1994 and William T. DeCarbo in 1996, has joined the family business.
2019- Present
Since then, the fourth generation, Raquel DeCarbo in 2019 and Roger M. DeCarbo, III, in 2022, joined the family firm.
